ME News Report, April 18 (UTC+8), U.S. officials say that the U.S. military is preparing to inspect and seize commercial ships related to Iran in international waters within the next few days, expanding its naval operations beyond the Middle East.
At the same time, the Iranian military continues to strengthen its control over the Strait of Hormuz, attacking multiple commercial ships on Saturday and announcing that the waterway is under Iran's "strict control."
These developments have caught shipping companies off guard, just a day earlier, Iran's foreign minister claimed that the strait was fully open to commercial ships, a statement that was praised by President Trump.

Iran's actions are quite contradictory; the foreign minister's statements and the military's actions are not on the same page.

Trump praised openness just moments before, then immediately launched an attack—his face is really getting slapped.
