ME News report: May 31 (UTC+8). A recording of the ship’s radio public channel provided by crew members of a stranded merchant vessel near the Strait of Hormuz shows that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy of Iran and U.S. military aircraft issued warnings to the relevant ships on the 30th.

The radio recording shows that on the evening of the 30th, the IRGC Navy issued a stern warning to vessels in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, stating that the Strait of Hormuz is still closed and that only vessels that have permission from the IRGC Navy and sail according to the routes designated by Iran are allowed to pass. Any act that violates the above regulations will seriously endanger maritime navigation safety.

The IRGC Navy also said that any U.S. Navy action to interfere with the management of the Strait of Hormuz or to disrupt navigation order will be met with a severe military response. (Source: ODAILY)

Only Iran-designated routes are allowed, which effectively controls the strait.
