Recently, I’ve been seeing a lot of people催ing cross-chain transfers—“Why hasn’t it arrived yet?”… For my part, I’d rather wait a few more minutes to confirm. To put it plainly, bridges are about relocating trust: whether the multi-signature group’s keys are decentralized enough, whether the oracle-fed data has been brought into a certain rhythm, and if anything small goes wrong on either side, it could all be reset back to square one overnight. Waiting for confirmation is essentially waiting for the moment when “others can’t easily change the account,” which is slower, but it feels solid.

Over the past couple of days, the staking unlocks and the unlock calendar have been dug up again and it scares me too. I’ll feel anxious as well, but compared with trying to guess sell pressure, I’m more afraid of that kind of one-off black swan on the bridge… I’ll look at the data—after all, at least it won’t change just because I get emotional—but right up until the final point of confirmation, my intuition will tug at me too: if it feels off, transfer less, and try one transaction first. Either way, if the tea has gone cold, you can always brew it again.
