Scrolled to another "new narrative" trending on hot searches, almost reflexively wanted to chase after it, but then I opened the blockchain and took a look around: a bunch of new addresses, only a few transactions, TVL looks pretty good but user retention is like a leaky bucket... Honestly, the attention economy is just using your emotions as fuel, when a hot topic changes, it throws you off the ride.

Now I’ve set a simple rule for myself: don’t look at the K-line first, check if real users are coming back and if the product is being used repeatedly; relying too much on on-chain data tools isn’t good either, recently the tagging system has been criticized as "lagging/misleading" for a reason, others want to put on a show for you, indicators can be faked too. Anyway, I’d rather be a bit slow, miss a wave or two, but at least I won’t keep revisiting the same pit every time.
