ME News Report, May 29 (UTC+8), among the large oil tankers that remained in the Persian Gulf at the outbreak of the Iran conflict, about a quarter have gradually escaped through slow and covert means, successfully leaving the area.
According to shipping data compiled by Bloomberg, after the conflict erupted on February 28 and the Strait of Hormuz was effectively closed, a total of 109 large vessels (with a capacity of 700k barrels or more) were stranded; now, 29 of them have successfully crossed this strategic chokepoint.
Although these released cargoes account for only a tiny portion of the total crude oil and refined products still stranded in the Gulf, in the context of record-breaking global market inventory buffers shrinking rapidly, these cargoes were quickly bought up by the market once released.
Furthermore, since many ships turned off their position broadcasting devices to avoid risks, the actual number of ships that successfully evacuated is likely higher than the above statistics. (Jin10) (Source: ODAILY)

Only 29 ships have come out of 109 ships; this rescue speed is a bit slow.

One quarter is out of trouble, what about the remaining three quarters? Waiting for negotiations?

Non-Iranian ships can't move at all; Iran's own ships are even worse off.

The market's rush for supplies indicates a genuine oil shortage, not hype.

A vessel with a capacity of 700k barrels, losing a day is an astronomical amount of loss.

The Strait of Hormuz is really hard to navigate.
