Pi Network may have developed independently, but this time DTCC announced that starting in 2027, tokenization services will be conducted on the Stellar network. Can Pi benefit from this? Absolutely, the future is inevitable.
The "engine" and "chassis" of Pi Network are built using Stellar's technology (Pi's underlying code is largely based on Stellar). They have also recently upgraded to protocol v24.
Now, DTCC (the global financial super boss) has decided to connect assets worth 114 trillion USD, including stocks, government bonds, ETFs, and other real assets, directly onto the Stellar chain, and has received regulatory approval from the US SEC.
It's like: a super strict bank says, "I only trust the technology of this factory, so I entrust my vault and all valuables to it for management."
And what happened? This factory (Stellar) suddenly becomes super reliable, licensed, and backed.
Because Pi uses the same set of technology (tech stack), others will think: "Oh, Pi also uses the technology recognized by big banks, it shouldn't be too bad."
This is called indirect credibility injection.
DTCC will first use Stellar, and in the future, will add other public chains that have undergone strict audits. Although Pi Network cannot be used, because the directions are different. DTCC, Stellar, and other chains will belong to the "asset layer" in the future, while Pi Network belongs to the "account layer."
Pi has a decentralized KYC system. This massive user base will make Pi's DID users include public keys, verification methods, and service endpoints. When cross-chain interactions become visible in the future, users won't need to repeatedly verify their identities. Because Pi has a large compliant real-person database, through VC technology, Pi can prove to the underlying financial asset chain that "this operator is a real person and compliant, meeting KYC and AML standards." At the same time, user privacy is protected, which was also emphasized by the doctor at the Miami conference.
Therefore, in the future, Pi Network will definitely see many new innovations based on how to perform cross-chain innovations between the front-end "user layer" and the DTCC + Stellar "asset layer." The innovation space around tokenized asset rights is enormous.
In simple terms:
DTCC gave Stellar a clean bill of health, and because Pi shares the same "components" with Stellar, it also benefits, appearing more legitimate and trustworthy.
