JUST IN: Google Engineer Charged in $1.2M Polymarket Insider Trading Case
A Google security engineer, Michele Spagnuolo, used an internal company tool to see trending search data before it went public.
He then bet on Google's "Year in Search 2025" results on Polymarket under the handle "AlphaRaccoon."
He placed $2.7M in bets and profited $1.2M.
After winning, he moved 5M $USDC out, ran it through a swap service and a privacy tool to hide the trail.
Now facing commodities fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering charges.
This is the second federal case tied to Polymarket and the first using insider data from a major tech company.
