Recently, someone said, "Why does cross-chain still take so long?"
I actually think the confirmation time of a few minutes or tens of minutes is quite valuable.
The biggest risk for bridges isn't slowness, but the few people/keys involved in multi-signature going wrong, or the oracle feeding incorrect data (sometimes not malicious, just a quick sync glitch causing chaos).
After you click "Transfer Out," that "waiting for confirmation" period is essentially giving some buffer for on-chain consensus and risk control, especially when facing congestion, reorganizations, or inconsistent data sources.
A bit slower can actually better expose problems.
Recently, modularization and DA layer narratives have been quite heated; developers are excited, users are confused, but for cross-chain, I just want to focus on the most basic things first:
Every time you use a bridge, treat it like borrowing a book—first check who the admin is, what the multi-signature threshold is, the oracle source, and don't dump all your positions at once...
Just do it like that for now.
