Abstract generation in progress
Crypto Mars News, May 28 — Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin posted a recommendation for the project "The Interfold." "More people should learn about Interfold. This is a universal implementation of the MACI (Minimal Anti-Covert Collusion Infrastructure) concept that I have repeatedly called for over the past decade. The project is essentially a privacy protocol optimized for voting and secret auctions, allowing more people to focus on and understand this technological advancement." Vitalik also stated that the core mechanism of Interfold includes generating threshold encryption keys, users submitting on-chain votes with ZKP (Zero-Knowledge Proof) qualifications, performing arbitrary computations within Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) followed by threshold decryption, enabling unconditional voter anonymity, Ethereum-level censorship resistance, and ZK over FHE to ensure result correctness, among other strong security guarantees; the main current limitation is the high cost of complex computations (such as multiplication), with only addition-based voting being mature. Optimization efforts like slashing-based methods are underway, with the long-term goal of implementing obfuscation techniques to eliminate reliance on M-of-N committees.

There's quite a lot of room for imagination in secret auction scenarios. Can NFT silent auctions be used?

Vitalik's proposed Interfold is quite interesting; MACI finally has a general implementation.

If contract trading lacks privacy, it’s like an open book for the market makers—enabling precise harvesting.

The biggest concern with privacy policies is "appearing private but actually leaking," and the ZK proof layer is crucial for this.

Only when the M-of-N dependencies can be eliminated is it truly a permissionless system.

If the slashing mechanism is implemented successfully, the cost for the committee to act maliciously will increase.

Homomorphic encryption threshold decryption just sounds like it burns gas, and multiplication voting still needs optimization.

Threshold encryption + ZK This combination has effectively filled the infrastructure gap for anonymous voting.
