My current attitude towards L2 is: save gas if you can, but don't tinker yourself into sleepless nights just to save a little money. The mainnet approach of "expensive but certain" suits my cautious nature; L2 experience is indeed smooth, and transfers are quick, but once it involves cross-chain/bridges, I instinctively watch out for large amounts suddenly moving in or out, and if the delay gets long, I start imagining all kinds of accidents...
Recently, everyone has been talking about testnet incentives, points, and guessing whether the mainnet will issue tokens. I react a bit slowly, mostly waiting for the hype to pass before taking a quick look. Basically, the compromise is: small daily interactions on L2, large and long-term assets on the mainnet; only use familiar bridges, and treat fees as "buying peace of mind"... Anyway, I prefer to do fewer transactions rather than pile up risks just for some points.
