AIMPACT News, May 16 (UTC+8), according to Beating Monitoring, Instagram co-founder Mike Krieger shifted from Anthropic CPO to frontline product incubation in January of this year, joining the company's internal experimental team Labs, and jointly responsible for this internal innovation department with Ben Mann. Ami Vora took over the product organization, responsible for scaling the existing product line of Claude. Labs' positioning is closer to Anthropic's early startup team, specifically turning new capabilities within the Claude model into real products. Krieger stated in a recent interview that, after expansion, Labs has abandoned the traditional two-week sprint system, adopting high-frequency iteration cycles called "Bolts" measured in hours or days. Most team members have entrepreneurial backgrounds, and the internal goal is to find the "next Claude Code." This mechanism has already produced several core products. Anthropic official sources say that Claude Code, MCP, Skills, Claude in Chrome, and Cowork all originate from this close-to-model boundary product experimentation. The article from Sources also mentions that Krieger's previous experience with the long-horizon agents project laid the technical groundwork for subsequent Claude Managed Agents. Computer Use is an early example of this approach. As early as October 2024, Anthropic launched a computer use beta with the upgraded Claude 3.5 Sonnet, enabling Claude to see screens, move cursors, click buttons, and input text. Krieger added in the interview that this capability was previously shelved due to slow speed and inaccurate clicking, but was resumed after subsequent models showed significant performance improvements. Computing power has become a hard constraint for Anthropic's product deployment. On May 6, 2026, the company announced an agreement with SpaceX to use the entire Colossus 1 data center's computing capacity, gaining over 300 MW of new capacity and more than 220k NVIDIA GPUs, while simultaneously increasing the usage limits for Claude Code and Claude API. For Anthropic, Labs is responsible for exploring new forms, and the power agreement ensures these forms can actually run. (Source: BlockBeats)

Cowork, this name is too straightforward, right? An AI colleague, perhaps? In the future, could it also help write weekly reports?
