Trump Supports Cryptocurrency Prediction Markets Polymarket and Kalshi

Donald Trump expressed the opinion that the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) should maintain its "exclusive authority" in regulating prediction markets, and that the industry itself has every chance to "prosper."

According to Trump, the "rules of the game" are being formed in the U.S., which should become the "gold standard" for regulating this sector.

He also criticized officials and governors who attempt to restrict the activities of prediction markets at the state level.

Trump noted that the U.S. continues to remain the "world capital of cryptocurrencies," while other countries "try to take the lead."

"This is a major industry, and we must protect it," Trump wrote.

It is worth noting that two days prior, The New York Times published an investigation claiming that CFTC employees allegedly helped remove regulatory barriers for crypto companies and platforms associated with Trump's circle, including Polymarket.
