UK Sanctions Crypto Exchanges Accused Of Helping Russia Bypass Western Restrictions

The UK government has imposed immediate sanctions on 18 crypto related entities, accusing them of helping Russia move capital through alternative digital financial networks.
British intelligence claims the Kremlin linked A7 payment network moved over $90B through digital channels last year tied to military procurement and Russian oil export settlements.
The measures include:
• Global asset freezes
• Banking and transaction bans
• Restrictions on UK institutions interacting with listed entities
The crackdown also targets networks operating across Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Panama, and the UAE.
Governments are increasingly treating crypto infrastructure as a geopolitical battleground where sanctions enforcement, cross border payments, and digital finance now intersect directly with global security policy
