ME News Report, May 27 (UTC+8), according to reports, in the Democratic primary runoff for Texas's 18th Congressional District, emerging candidate Menefee defeated incumbent Al Green who has held the position for 20 years. The super political action committee in the crypto industry, Fairshake, and its affiliates invested a total of approximately $10.5 million, with $6.5 million supporting Menefee and $4 million opposing Green. Due to Green casting opposition votes on pro-crypto legislation such as the GENIUS Act and the CLARITY Act, he received an "F" rating in the crypto advocacy organization Stand With Crypto's score, becoming the first Democratic incumbent to lose this election cycle due to opposition to crypto. Fairshake stated after the election that Green's defeat demonstrates that opposing crypto legislation can have tangible electoral costs, and emphasized that they will continue to support leaders like Menefee.
