Golden Finance reports that OpenSea announced the launch of Ethereum's open standard ERC-8257 (Proxy Tool Registry), positioning it as "an app store for AI proxy tools," allowing developers to register tools on-chain, declare access rules and pricing, and support AI agents to autonomously discover, purchase access, and invoke tools without human intervention.
OpenSea states that this standard, combined with protocols such as ERC-8004 (Proxy Identity), MCP (Tool Discovery), and x402 (Payment Protocol), forms the foundational infrastructure for AI proxy operations on the blockchain. Currently, ERC-8257 is still in draft stage, and OpenSea invites developers to participate in refining the standards.
