ME AI News, according to “Beating” monitoring by “Data Observation,” OpenRouter announced the completion of a $113 million Series B funding round. CapitalG, an independent growth fund under Alphabet, Google’s parent company, led the round. NVentures and ServiceNow Ventures, MongoDB Ventures, Snowflake Ventures, and Databricks Ventures also participated; existing investors such as a16z and Menlo Ventures continued to follow on.

OpenRouter is an AI model trading and routing platform. Enterprises can, through a single API call, access 400+ models from providers such as Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, xAI, DeepSeek, and others. The strongest support behind this round of funding is usage growth. The company says that its platform’s weekly processing volume has increased to 25 trillion tokens—about 100 trillion tokens per month—up 5x from 5 trillion tokens per week six months ago.

The platform currently serves more than 8 million users worldwide, including AI-native startups and large enterprises. What OpenRouter is aiming to solve is the control problem that arises when enterprises move from single-model calls to multi-model scheduling. Different tasks require trade-offs among cost, latency, capability, and data-processing policy, and enterprises need unified routing, permissions, spend visibility, and audit-style usage reports. The company says the new funding will be used to expand routing, governance, and optimization capabilities.

As model companies continue to compete on price and capability, developers instead need an intermediary layer to compare, switch, and schedule models. Whoever controls the real call traffic will be closest to the key position in enterprise AI procurement and model distribution.

A single API connects to over 400 models, which indeed saves a lot of integration costs for enterprises.
