Base launches Base MCP: AI Agents can directly connect to on-chain accounts and operate within the Base ecosystem
BlockBeats News, May 27—According to official information, Base has officially launched Base MCP, allowing users to connect their Base accounts to AI Agents and complete on-chain actions such as transfers, token swaps, asset queries, and protocol interactions directly through a chat interface. This feature supports MCP-compatible AI clients such as Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT, Cursor, and covers Base ecosystem protocols including Morpho, Moonwell, Aerodrome, and Uniswap.
Base states that users only need to log in to their Base account via OAuth 2.1 to authorize the AI Agent to submit transaction requests in the chat window, including cross-chain asset queries, sending funds, swapping, perpetual contract operations, and participating in new token and AI Agent projects. All transactions require manual confirmation by the user; the system will not custody or access user private keys. Transaction requests will be shown in a Base account pop-up with simulated asset changes, and users can decide whether to sign and execute.
In addition, Base MCP also supports developers creating custom “Skill Plugins,” enabling AI Agents to call more on-chain applications through protocol APIs or an MCP Server. The official statement says that in the future, it will continue to expand the plugin ecosystem, optimize AI prompt flows, and deepen the integration of AI Agents with the on-chain economy, driving users to participate in the Base ecosystem through natural language.
