ME News Report, May 26 (UTC+8), according to official sources, Optimism announced that the OP mainnet has for the first time today adjusted the transaction ordering rules. Previously, for many years, the scheduler only used the "highest priority Gas fee first" mechanism, and now a new staking-based priority sorting option has been added.
This experiment will last four weeks (until June 23), approved earlier this month by the Optimism governance body, and users can choose to participate.
Participation requires staking at least 100,000 OP tokens to the PolicyEngineStaking contract.
The experiment is conducted in two phases: the first phase (Week 1) uses FIFO (First-In, First-Out) ordering, and staking amounts above the minimum threshold do not affect priority;
the second phase (Weeks 2-4) changes to a weighted priority Gas multiplier mechanism based on staking duration, with longer staking times resulting in higher priority.
Users who do not participate in the experiment will maintain the original transaction ordering rules, and the PGA mechanism will continue to operate as usual. (Source: BlockBeats)

PGA and staking run in parallel, with a sufficiently conservative transition period
