Elon Musk: Grok4.3 beta is still a mid-version with 0.5T training, the 1T flagship is 5 days away from completing initial training.

ME News Message, April 18 (UTC+8). According to Beating Monitoring from Dongcha, Grok 4.3 (beta) has been opened to users subscribed to the highest tier SuperGrok Heavy. On the 17th, users saw that this version was marked with “Early Access” in the dropdown menu on Grok.com. On the morning of the 18th, X user Mark Kretschmann posted that this version has 1T parameters, twice the scale of Grok 4.20, and also a significantly longer training time. Elon Musk later corrected this in the same tweet, saying the current 4.3 (beta) is still a 0.5T model—just an updated training checkpoint, not the 1T new model speculated by outsiders. Musk also revealed that the real 1T flagship model is still about 5 days away from initial training completion. He described that the 1T model will deliver a step-change improvement in coding, long context, and various skills, and said the SpaceXAI model factory has already been running; afterward, it is expected to roll out an improved base model every two weeks.
