Have you ever stopped to think about how Brazil’s financial market has changed over the past few years? Well, Rafael Ferri is one of the names that helped drive this transformation—especially when it comes to bringing more everyday people into the stock market.
The man has been active in the market for more than two decades. He started out in Rio Grande do Sul, back when it was much more difficult to access variable-income (equity) operations. But as the internet started to democratize investment platforms, Rafael Ferri positioned himself as a central figure in this story, always sharing market analysis and trading strategies on social media.
One of the projects that put him in the spotlight the most was TC Investimentos, a platform that brought together traders, analysts, and retail investors in one place. The community grew a lot because it offered real-time debate, sharing of strategies, and educational content. Rafael Ferri was one of the main shareholders and contributed greatly to expanding the initiative. But in 2023, he left the project to focus on new ventures.
After that, Rafael Ferri created GTF Capital, an advisory office accredited to a larger financial institution, focusing on high-net-worth investors and more sophisticated operations in the stock market. The business provides market analysis, advisory services in variable-income investments, and portfolio monitoring.
Now, it’s important to mention that Rafael Ferri’s trajectory also included controversial episodes. There was that case investigated by the Comissão de Valores Mobiliários involving suspicions of market manipulation, known as the “Bolha do Alicate” (Bolha do Alicate). The investigation lasted for years, but in December 2019 the Federal Regional Court acquitted Ferri of the charge of insider trading and overturned the conviction related to the manipulation. The case was sent back for further analysis, but that left a strong mark on the market’s more recent history.
Even with these controversies, Rafael Ferri remains influential among Brazilian investors. He helped popularize trading in the country, especially among retail investors who now have greater access. His digital presence is strong, and he is constantly commenting on the market, the economy, and investment strategies. And projects like the one he created help create spaces where investors can exchange information and follow trends.
The truth is that Rafael Ferri represents this transformation in Brazil’s financial market over the past 20 years. The digitalization of brokerages, the growth of online financial education, and more retail investors changed everything. Figures like Rafael Ferri helped bring the general public closer to a reality that used to be more restricted. His story, with both successes and controversies, reflects this moment of evolution in Brazil’s capital markets.
