I just noticed that many people are starting to talk again about holding cryptocurrencies long-term in 2025. In fact, investing in digital assets is not new, but it seems this new cycle has some differences.
Let's see why long-term crypto holdings are attracting many investors at this time. The first point is the unbelievable returns. While the stock market typically grows about 20% per year, Bitcoin has a much higher growth history. Over the past five years, the average return has been as high as 300% per year. The second point is that long-term crypto holdings serve as a hedge during financial crises, unlike other assets that tend to decline sharply. The third point is high liquidity, making it easier for investors to enter and exit. Of course, all these come with significant risks.
Talking about interesting crypto options for long-term holding, there are many choices now, but I want to highlight five that seem worth attention.
Starting with Bitcoin, the pioneer in the crypto world and still the main choice for long-term investment. Currently, the price is $77,440 with a circulating supply of 20,034,681 BTC. The advantage of Bitcoin is its limited supply of only 21 million coins, creating scarcity and potential for long-term price appreciation. However, caution is needed regarding increasing competition.
Another interesting one is Ethereum, which differs from Bitcoin that focuses on transfers. Ethereum is a platform for developing decentralized applications. The current price is $2,130 with a circulating supply of 120,685,489 ETH. Ethereum’s growth depends on the number of applications and users on the platform. Since software development continues steadily, long-term investment in Ethereum is worth watching.
Tether is different; it’s a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, with a fixed price of $1. The circulating supply is 189,633,830,744 USDT. Tether’s role is to provide liquidity and stability in the crypto market. It’s not an innovation but is very important for traders and investors.
Ripple XRP is a coin designed to make cross-border payments faster. The current price is $1.36 with a circulating supply of 61,858,321,245 XRP. Notably, XRP has partnered with leading financial institutions and has gained popularity recently. Long-term investment in Ripple could be a good option if you believe in the potential of cross-border payments.
Finally, BNB started as a utility token but has now developed into a powerful ecosystem coin. The current price is $662.80 with a circulating supply of 134,784,827 BNB. BNB powers decentralized applications and DeFi projects on its own blockchain. Its token burn mechanism helps create scarcity over the long term.
In summary, investing in these long-term crypto coins could be a good option for those looking to build wealth in the future. But remember, crypto investing carries risks. It’s important to understand each asset well and manage risks appropriately before making investment decisions.
