Sei v6.4 upgrade adds a new switch to disable IBC asset transfers in and out

ME News message: On April 18 (UTC+8), Sei officially stated that the Sei v6.4 upgrade has added a protocol-level switch for “closing IBC asset transfers.” Going forward, it will be officially enabled via governance proposals. Sei also reminded users that if they hold some IBC assets on Sei, they should bridge them out to the original chain as soon as possible before the proposal passes; otherwise, the related Cosmos native assets will no longer be able to be transferred to Sei, and users may face the risk of being unable to retrieve their assets. The assets currently needing to be handled as quickly as possible include: USDCet (Wormhole Ethereum USDC), USDCop (Wormhole Optimism USDC), USDTbs, ATOM, and WBTC. Sei said this adjustment is part of the transition to upgrade the network to “only EVM chain” as part of SIP-3. (Source: MLion)

ATOM can no longer be used. In the future, what kind of integration will Sei and Cosmos Hub have?

The term "protocol-level switch" is very Cosmos; governance makes the decision.

What is USDTbs, the BSC version? I need to check if I have a position.

SIP-3’s propulsion speed is seriously impressive—pure EVM chain is basically Sei’s endgame form.

If it's only EVM chains, does Tendermint consensus still remain? Curious about the technical details.

Sei—Is this a complete cut from the Cosmos ecosystem? A bit heartbreaking.

If large assets like WBTC get stuck, it would be troublesome. I'll show respect first.

The governance proposal hasn't passed yet, there should still be a window period, but don't wait until the last minute.

USDCet and USDCop both need to be handled—these two codes are a total headache to look at.
