U.S.-Iran negotiations, a big surprise over the weekend, but upon calmer reflection, it's not that simple.
Trump directly posted on the 23rd saying "Basically agreed." He made a series of calls—Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain—all notified.
This show of force indicates that the U.S. is really eager to finalize this matter quickly. The reason is simple: oil prices can't withstand much more.
Pakistani Army Chief Munir arrived in Tehran on the 22nd, mediating for over 24 hours, both sides met.
If an intermediary can stay in Tehran that long without leaving, it shows that both sides have already discussed things privately and are just waiting for the final sign-off.
Now, it looks like a three-step process:
First, stabilize the ceasefire and reduce the tension.
Second, reopen the Strait of Hormuz, allowing oil to flow normally, and the biggest threat in the market will be removed.
Third, postpone the nuclear issue; that’s a long-term matter.
The U.S. fears rising oil prices → inflation → interest rate backlash; Iran’s sanctions are about to become unsustainable.
Both sides have reasons to back down.
What does this mean for the crypto world?
Short-term positive sentiment has already surged; ETH from 2,009 to 2,149 reflects this premium.
If the agreement is officially signed in the next few days, oil prices will fall, inflation expectations will cool, and risk assets will rise, benefiting BTC and altcoins.
But if only a temporary agreement is signed, with core issues delayed, the market will quickly revert to the original logic—inflation, interest rates, macroeconomic data.
June CPI, non-farm payrolls, and the Fed’s first rate decision are the real factors that will determine the direction.
An agreement can boost sentiment initially.
If no agreement is reached, oil prices will soar again, and the crypto market will be the first to bleed.
So far, the negotiations are heading in a good direction, but implementation is what counts.
In the short term, focus on sentiment; in the medium to long term, watch oil prices.
Wait for an official signing, not just empty talk. #美伊协议草案
