Tiger Securities responds to regulatory guidance: It will not affect existing/ongoing trades, and will not move or remove current users from service for now

ME News Report, May 25 (UTC+8), Tiger Securities issued a client notice regarding recent regulatory guidelines that have attracted market attention, stating that the relevant regulations have not yet been fully implemented. Currently, deposits, position building, and trading for domestic clients are unaffected, and the platform "will not withdraw existing users." Tiger Securities stated that this regulatory guideline mainly targets individual investors who "only hold mainland Chinese ID cards or passports, with no foreign identity," and the scope of impact covers the entire industry, including cross-border brokerage platforms such as Tiger, Futu, and Changqiao. According to the notice, individual clients holding Hong Kong permanent resident IDs, Hong Kong non-permanent resident IDs, work visas, student visas, or other legal foreign IDs, as well as overseas registered operating institutions, are "not affected" at present, and related accounts, trading, and deposit/withdrawal services are operating normally. For affected clients, Tiger said that in the future, there may be a gradual restriction on "deposits and purchases" within the mainland, but the specific implementation timeline and details have not yet been clarified. If there are formal plans later, users will be notified in advance and given transition arrangements. Regarding asset security, Tiger emphasized that client funds are strictly segregated from company operating funds, with US stocks, Hong Kong stocks, and Singapore stocks assets separately custodied by DTCC, Hong Kong Central Clearing and Settlement System, and Singapore CDP, respectively. The company's overall operations and financial status are normal. (Source: BlockBeats)
