Japanese data center operator Sakura Internet considers increasing spending sevenfold to meet demand
According to Bloomberg, Sakura Internet's CEO stated that to meet the growing demand for artificial intelligence in Japan, capital expenditures could be increased to nearly seven times the initial plan, with a proposed investment of up to 20 billion to 30 billion yen (approximately $125 million to $190 million) in this fiscal year. Founder and CEO Kunihiro Tanaka said this figure far exceeds the 4.4 billion yen capital expenditure plan disclosed last month.
