ME News Report, May 15 (UTC+8), Digital bank Revolut announced that its trading division, Revolut Trading Ltd, has received an expanded authorization approved by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to launch more comprehensive investment and wealth management services in the UK market. According to the latest approved Variation of Permissions (VoP), Revolut can now manage investment portfolios for clients and participate in certain trades as the principal. This means the platform will soon offer leveraged investment products, professionally managed investment portfolios, and customized wealth management services for high-net-worth users, with all features integrated into its mobile app, alongside daily banking and payment tools. It is reported that Revolut plans to further introduce AI-driven portfolio recommendation tools, continuing its transformation into a "one-stop financial platform." Earlier this year, Revolut officially obtained a full UK banking license. Analysts believe that the FCA’s approval demonstrates an increased maturity as a regulated financial institution and also reflects how fintech companies are accelerating competition with traditional banks and wealth management firms. The main party now has trading authority, meaning they can start manipulating the market themselves, leaving plenty of room for imagination.

Enhancing regulatory maturity is a good thing, but will the high-net-worth customized services have too high a threshold?

From a small currency exchange tool to a fully licensed wealth platform, this transformation speed is indeed impressive.
