The Ethereum Foundation has repeatedly faced criticism, and researchers are backing its mission to build protocols rather than “pump” ETH.

Abstract generation in progress
Mars Finance News: According to Cointelegraph, the Ethereum Foundation has recently faced criticism from the community for selling ETH, unstaking, and communicating less publicly.
However, blockchain researcher and investor William Mougayar defended them, stating that the outside world has long misunderstood the Foundation's positioning; ETH, the Ethereum network, and the Ethereum Foundation are three different aspects: ETH is an asset, Ethereum is a shared computing infrastructure, and the Foundation is a non-profit organization responsible for promoting protocol development, with one of its goals being "to gradually make founders less important."
The Ethereum Foundation is currently on a "subtraction path," strengthening the network by advancing protocol upgrades, funding foundational research, and reducing its own centralization influence.

Funding basic research is a good thing, but don't end up selling all your coins while researching.

Separation of powers? The problem is that the foundation still holds too much control now.

Letting founders become less important—how does Vitalik Buterin feel upon hearing this?

Basically, they just want to be the behind-the-scenes mover, not the target.

The subtraction route sounds sophisticated, but can the pace of selling coins be a bit more transparent?

I support the subtraction approach, but it's also quite difficult to add positive community sentiment.

The more low-key the foundation is, the healthier ETH is. I agree with this logic.

William, the distinction is quite clear, but the community wants an accounting ledger, not a philosophy class.
