The official statement said this is a new protocol-level feature that allows users and businesses to perform peer-to-peer transfers without paying gas fees or holding SUI tokens, meaning that transfer fees for stablecoins supported on the Sui network are now $0.
The first supported stablecoins for this feature include USDsui, SuiUSDe, AUSD, FDUSD, USDB, USDC, and USDY, and it has received support from Fireblocks.
