ME News report, May 23 (UTC+8): U.S. Secretary of State Rubio said that there has been some progress in Iran negotiations. In the next few days, we may have news about Iran to announce.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei said that the core purpose of Pakistani Army Chief of Staff Munir’s visit to Iran is to transmit and exchange specific information between Iran and the United States. He said: “At this stage, all our core focus is on ending this ‘imposed war.’”

Baghaei said that both sides have conducted several rounds of intensive exchanges of opinions on different provisions in the proposal. The two sides have also held in-depth discussions on issues where they have serious disagreements.

Given the U.S.’s consistently contradictory stance, Iran cannot currently assert that this negotiation process will undergo a fundamental change. He said: “Our views have indeed moved closer to each other, but that does not mean an agreement has been reached—it only means we are able to explore a possible solution.”

An Iranian official said that Iran has reached a memorandum of understanding with Pakistani mediators and is awaiting a response from the United States. The proposal includes: ending the war, lifting the blockade, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and withdrawing U.S. troops from areas of conflict. The nuclear issue is currently excluded and may be discussed after 30 days. Iran said it is unable to offer further concessions. (Gold 10) (Source: ODالAILY)

The memorandum has been signed, pending the U.S. response; the initiative actually lies in Washington's hands.

If the blockade is lifted, Iran's economy could catch a breath, and encrypted payment scenarios might increase.

Ending the war and nuclear issues are discussed separately; both sides are testing their bottom lines.

If the Strait of Hormuz truly reopens, oil prices will fluctuate again.
