📊 BTC at $77K — Is This the Bounce or the Bull Trap? My May 22 Prediction
Alright let's talk about what's actually moving the market today because this is an interesting setup.
The Iran-U.S. agreement news dropped and crypto caught a mild bid off it. Bitcoin briefly touched $78K before pulling back to hover around $77,000. Classic macro-driven pop — the kind that makes you wonder whether real buyers stepped in or whether it was just algos reacting to headlines and fading just as fast.
Here's my honest read on this. The macro tailwind is real but it's thin. A diplomatic development in the Middle East is genuinely positive for risk appetite globally — less geopolitical tension means money feels safer moving into higher-risk assets like crypto. That's the bull case for today.
But here's what's making me cautious. Bitcoin was already in a fragile zone before this news hit. The $77K to $78K range has been a resistance pocket, not a launchpad. We saw the wick up, yes, but we didn't see a clean close above it. That matters. Wicks without closes are the market's way of saying "not yet."
My prediction for May 22? I think BTC spends most of the day oscillating between $76,200 and $78,500. The macro positive gives it a floor for now but without fresh volume and a decisive break above $79K I don't see a sustained leg up today. More likely we chop sideways, maybe a slight drift lower into the $75K zone if US session sentiment turns risk-off.
If I'm trading this — I'm not chasing the bounce. I'm watching for a clean retest of $76K with strong buying reaction before considering any long entry. Patience wins in choppy macro-driven moves like this.
Short term cautious. Medium term still bullish. That's my stance today.
What's your call — does BTC push through $78K and hold today, or do we fade back into the $74K to $75K range before the real move?

On the latest news for May 22, the final draft of the Iran-U.S. agreement has been reached through mediation in Pakistan. Influenced by this macro positive news, the crypto market has slightly rebounded, with Bitcoin briefly recovering the $78k mark, currently oscillating around $77,000. Will BTC bounce back today by riding the trend, or will the positive momentum exhaust and start to pull back?
