ME News, May 23 (UTC+8): According to Polymarket Vice President of Engineering Josh Stevens, with the assistance of ZachXBT, BitcoinVN, and ChangeNOW, in the Polymarket private key leak incident, $164,000 has been frozen, accounting for approximately 28.6% of the $573,200 total transferred amount. Josh said the incident did not affect Polymarket or UMA smart contracts; user funds are safe and the platform is operating normally. The investigation shows that the incident was caused by a private key that has been in existence for about 6 years being leaked; the private key was used for internal recharge configuration, resulting in funds being continuously sent to the affected address. The relevant teams are currently continuing to trace the flow of the remaining stolen funds. (Source: PANews)

28.6% being recoverable is pretty good; the remaining 71.4% is probably lost.

This configuration key should be placed in a multi-signature or cold wallet.
