Anyone active in the Pi community knows the problem: The KYC process takes forever. Many report waiting months or repeated rejections. However, the Pi KYC process can actually be completed relatively quickly if you know what matters.

The basic requirements are manageable: You must be at least 18 years old, have a valid ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID), and have been actively mining Pi for at least 30 days. For the liveness check, it’s important that your face is well-lit and recognizable. In Nigeria, international passports or the NIN are often required.

Regarding the process: After installing the Pi browser app, navigate to the Mainnet section. There are several tasks to complete before the KYC tab is unlocked. Then select your country, your ID type, and take clear photos of the front and back. The form will be filled out with your ID data—name, date of birth, ID number. Finally, you will record a selfie video for the liveness check. The entire Pi KYC process should then take about 5 to 10 minutes.

After submission, approval times vary greatly. Some get approval within minutes, others wait weeks or longer. This depends on the quality of your information and the availability of verifiers in your country. Your application is reviewed by at least two validated verifiers. The process costs 1 Pi, which goes to the verifiers.

You can track your status in your profile or in the Mainnet checklist. A green checkmark or green tab indicates that your Pi KYC was successful. If it takes longer, sometimes reviewing your details and ensuring everything was entered correctly helps. Good luck with your verification!
