Alright, lately I've been checking out these mining apps for smartphones, and I have to say there are quite a few options. At first, I thought it was a trivial thing, but there are many people seriously trying it.
CryptoTab was one of the first on the market; basically, you install the mining app and it starts generating hashrate automatically. What I like is that you can invite friends and earn more, like a referral system. Then there's a well-known exchange that offers cloud mining — you don't mine directly from your phone, but buy hashrate from their pool and receive earnings in the platform's wallet. There are different plans depending on how much you want to invest.
StormGain is another mining app that many use; it has a pretty clean interface and your crypto is safe, but it requires a restart every 4 hours, which is quite annoying if you're mining continuously. NiceHash, on the other hand, is free and allows you to manage hashrate orders and calculate yields. Many prefer it for security, although it's still better to enable 2FA. Bitdeer is for those who are serious; it offers different plans and access to professional tools.
But here’s the point: is it really worth it? It depends on how much time you can dedicate. On average, about 8 hours of active mining per day are needed, and the competition is fierce. Some say it's a waste of time, others swear that with hardware improvements and new algorithms, everything could change. I think that if you don't expect to get rich quickly, at least as an experiment, it's worth trying.
If you want to start with Android, it's simple: download a mining app like CryptoTab or similar, create an account, set up mining for Bitcoin, enter your wallet address, and hit start. On iPhone, it's more complicated because Apple is strict about mining apps, so you basically have to use only cloud apps.
Regarding which crypto to mine, the easiest in 2024 are Monero, Dogecoin, Vertcoin, and Ravencoin, according to those who try them. But also consider the electricity costs where you are and the current price of the coin.
One last thing: a Bitcoin with a smartphone theoretically takes about 10 minutes to mine, but in practice, it's much longer. To really speed things up, specialized hardware or cloud services are needed. Anyway, if you're curious to try these mining apps, at least it costs nothing to start.
