I used to be very committed to the mainnet, thinking it was the "authentic" one, but every time there was congestion, gas would feel like a psychological test: is it worth it or not? Now I’m more realistic— for everyday small transactions and frequent operations, I mostly use L2, treating it as a "cheap testing ground" to run the process smoothly first; only for large amounts, long-term storage, or involving permissions/upgrades do I return to the mainnet. If it’s expensive, it’s expensive once, and I sleep more peacefully.

Recently, L2s are arguing over TPS, transaction fees, and ecosystem subsidies, which looks a bit like a volatility war: numbers can be adjusted, but the experience is what matters. For me, there are two compromises: don’t disperse assets just to save a few bucks and lose control; and don’t always hard-commit to the mainnet to pay tuition for "security." Anyway, my current habit is: batch when possible, sign less when possible, because saving gas isn’t just money—it’s peace of mind.
