I've noticed that discussions around Layer 2 are exploding right now, and there's a good reason for that. With gas fees continuing to rise on Ethereum and congestion becoming a real problem, these solutions are really starting to make a difference.

So, what exactly is a Layer 2? Basically, it's a blockchain built on top of Ethereum that allows you to make transactions much faster and at a fraction of the cost. It remains secure because it still inherits Ethereum's security, but without the congestion.

What’s interesting is that you can really do anything on it. Decentralized exchanges, staking, games — all with ridiculously low fees compared to the mainnet. I tested a few transactions on Arbitrum and Optimism recently, and honestly, it’s a game-changer. Fees dropped from several dollars to just a few cents.

If you're looking to explore, Arbitrum and Optimism are the most established right now. zkSync is also developing quite a bit. And then there are more innovative projects like StarkNet experimenting with different technologies. Base has also gained quite a bit of traction recently.

It's clear that Layer 2 solutions will continue to grow. As more people discover them, you'll probably see more applications and liquidity moving to these solutions. DeFi, NFTs, all that could really take off on Layer 2.

Which Layer 2 are you using right now? Or are you still waiting to try it out?
