🍕 BITCOIN PIZZA DAY 🍕

On May 22, 2010, a software developer named Laszlo Hanyecz bought two pizzas for 10,000 $BTC.
It all started on May 18, 2010, Laszlo is a developer and a Bitcoin enthusiast.
He wants to give Bitcoin a real utility and has a brilliant idea: do what millions of people do every day, order a pizza.
But we are in 2010, and no pizzeria accepts BTC as a payment method.
He then decides to post a message on the BitcoinTalk Forum:
“I am willing to pay 10,000 bitcoins for two large pizzas..”
Which was about $41 at the time.
For three days, Laszlo Hanyecz receives no positive responses.
On May 21, he posts a new message:
“So nobody wants to buy me a pizza? Is the amount of bitcoin I’m offering too low?”
The next day, May 22, 2010, Jeremie Sturdivant aka "Jercos," another Bitcoin enthusiast, responds to Laszlo on the forum and accepts the offer.
Jeremie arranges for two large pizzas to be delivered by Papa John’s to Laszlo.
Jeremie later admitted to using the 10,000 $BTC for expenses during a trip shortly after.
Much more than just a pizza purchase, this transaction is the very first purchase of goods with Bitcoin, making this moment historic!
And thus, May 22 became Bitcoin Pizza Day 🍕
Beyond the symbolism, this event has become a true celebration day for the crypto community!
