Durov blasts the EU: Mandatory identity verification app riddled with vulnerabilities, a prelude to a "surveillance tool"

Abstract generation in progress
ME News Report, April 17 (UTC+8), Telegram founder Pavel Durov posted on his personal channel questioning the design conspiracy behind the EU's newly launched "Age Verification App." Durov stated that the app was cracked just 2 minutes after release and pointed out that this primitive vulnerability is very likely a deliberate arrangement by EU bureaucrats: first releasing a tool claimed to be "privacy-friendly" but fragile, then removing privacy protections under the pretext of "enhancing security" after hacking attacks, ultimately transforming it into a surveillance tool targeting social media users across Europe. Durov warned users to stay highly vigilant, believing that the current "accidental breach" is merely an excuse for the EU to shift from privacy protection to comprehensive scrutiny. Durov cautioned that such measures could evolve into surveillance tools for all users. (Source: PANews)

First create the vulnerability and then fix it, but the fix still involves a backdoored solution—clever move.

Telegram's founder personally steps in to criticize, it seems they're really getting desperate.
