I just realized something interesting – many newcomers to crypto only know about Bitcoin, Ethereum, or other top cap coins, but they overlook a whole opportunity in low cap coins with potential. Today, I want to share some things I’ve learned about Low Cap Coins and why they are considered a pretty attractive investment channel.
First, you need to understand what Market Cap is. It’s calculated by multiplying the circulating supply by the current price of a coin. For example, if a project has 1 million tokens in circulation and the current price is $50, then its Market Cap will be $50 million.
There are three main types of coins based on market capitalization. Top Cap includes those with a capitalization of $1 billion or more – like Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Tether. These coins are very safe, highly liquid, but the profits are usually not enormous. Next is Mid Cap, which includes coins from $100 million to under $1 billion. This is an ideal position for those who want to balance safety and growth potential.
But what I want to talk about is Low Cap Coins – those with a market cap under $50 million. This is where things get interesting. Low Cap Coins are usually quite cheap, with low 24-hour trading volume and limited liquidity. But because of this, if you find a promising low cap coin, the profit can reach dozens or even hundreds of times.
However, this is also the area with the highest risk. Not every trader has enough knowledge to distinguish a promising low cap coin from scam projects. You need to research the project thoroughly, including the development team, tokenomics, and its community.
I usually check basic things: market capitalization, 24-hour trading volume, the ratio between market cap and volume, price history, and especially the project’s real-world purpose. A promising low cap coin is not just a number on a chart – it must have practical applications, an active community, and a clear development plan.
If you’re new, I recommend starting with Top Cap or Mid Cap first. But if you have experience and are willing to accept high risks, then searching for a promising low cap coin can bring significant profits. Just remember, investing always involves risks, so invest wisely and never put everything into one basket.
