Have we ever really thought about how big of an impact AI will have on humanity?

Even people who use AI every day already struggle to tell if a video is real or fake.
Imagine what it'll be like in the next year or two.
Very soon, you'll be able to fake every reality without anyone knowing it.
Governments & media can use this stuff to fake events, manipulate people, and push divide and rule even harder because nobody will know what's real anymore.
I was hoping there would at least be restrictions or watermarks on AI videos, but it already feels too late. Companies cared more about releasing powerful AI fast than putting real limits on it.
The genie is out of the bottle now and it's not going back.
We're definitely cooked.
