I have just come across a fascinating – and disturbing – financial analysis that shows how complex Epstein's wealth really was structured. At his death in 2019, he had built an empire worth about $578 million. But how did that become possible in the first place?

The interesting part is: a large portion did not come from shady sources, but from two extremely wealthy men. Les Wexner, the founder of Victoria's Secret and L Brands, and Leon Black of Apollo Global Management – together, these two paid an estimated $370 million over two decades. That was over 75% of his business fees. Wexner even gave him a $56 million mansion in Manhattan and power of attorney over his finances. The partnership ended in 2007 after Wexner noticed that $46 million had gone missing.

After this setback, Epstein's wealth found a new source: Black paid an additional $170 million from 2012 to 2017 for alleged tax and estate planning – without formal contracts. Black believed Epstein's advice was worth billions. He also loaned $30 million to a company connected to Epstein.

But the genius was his tax system. He established companies in the U.S. Virgin Islands and used a local economic program that reduced his taxes by 90%. Between 1999 and 2018, this is said to have saved him over $300 million. In 2022, his estate had to pay back $80 million because the Virgin Islands government claimed the benefits were obtained fraudulently.

What fascinates me most: in 2004 alone, he earned $127 million. Of that, $15 million was just for connecting JPMorgan with Highbridge Capital. But the full client list remains secret.

In July 2025, Senator Ron Wyden announced that his committee had found over 4,700 Epstein-related transactions worth $1.9 billion across several banks. Wyden accused the Department of Justice of ignoring this critical evidence.

Despite everything: Epstein's wealth has not disappeared. The estate still holds assets worth $131 million and received a tax refund of $112 million from the IRS last year. This shows how deeply these structures are rooted. The real question remains – how many other elite networks operate similarly, only without the criminal components?
