Thursday's big stock stories: What’s likely to move the market in the next trading session

Here's what CNBC TV's producers were watching as the S & P 500 ended a three-day losing run, and what's on the radar for the next session. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will be on " Squawk on the Street " in the 10 a.m. hour, Eastern time. The tech giant beat earnings and revenue estimates in its fiscal first quarter. Nvidia also announced that its board authorized $80 billion in share repurchases. The stock didn't move much after the bell. Shares lost about 1% in extended trading. CNBC "Fast Money" trader Dan Nathan called it right on Tuesday when he said that expectations are so high, it'll be hard to move the stock much higher. Shares are off 5.5% from the high reached last week. The stock is up about 12% so far in May. CNBC TV's Kristina Partsinevelos will be watching the stock on Thursday. NVDA 1M mountain Nvidia shares in the past month SpaceX The company will start trading on the Nasdaq soon. Elon Musk's space company filed to go public , and it could list next month. CNBC TV's Leslie Picker is leading the reporting on Wednesday night. She's turning up some key findings in the filing , including the following: On or after the second full trading day following the quarterly results (through June 30), up to 20% of "early release eligible shares may be transferred." Another nugget in the prospectus: "If the reported closing price is at least 30% higher than the IPO price by its first post-listing earnings, another 10% of shares may be sold." The filing also said, "On day 180 after the IPO, all early-release eligible shares may be transferred," but "Elon Musk is not privy to any of these early-release provisions" meaning he would have to wait 180 days after SpaceX's debut. This is expected to be the biggest initial public offering ever . The symbol will be SPCX. A few publicly traded funds hold the stock allowing for some exposure to SpaceX for the general public. The Fundrise Innovation Fund 's ticker is VCX. It's been wicked volatile due to a short report, but it's up about 160% in May. Baron Focused Growth Fund (BFGIX) has a 19% allocation toward SpaceX, but there's a minimum investment of $1,000,000. The fund has gained 14% in the past year. Cathie Wood's ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX) has 14% of its allocation in SpaceX. It has jumped nearly 25% in six months. CNBC TV's Morgan Brennan has been covering the company since the start and will have a lot more on this on " Morning Call " Thursday, starting at 5 a.m. Weekly jobless claims at 8:30 a.m. on 'Squawk Box' Becky Quick, Joe Kernen and Andrew Ross Sorkin will have the number and the immediate market reaction. The Dow Jones consensus estimate is 210,000. Most of the buyers of contracts on Kalshi Wednesday night are calling for a number that's under that 210,000 level. The market will move Thursday, and we'll be watching with full coverage on Housing starts at 8:30 a.m. on 'Squawk Box' The Dow Jones consensus estimate is for 1.42 million. CNBC's Diana Olick will be watching for the number and the premarket stock reaction. Shares of Toll Brothers are down 19% from the February high. Hovnanian is off 40% from the September high. Taylor Morrison is down 21% from the September high. Lennar is off 40% from the September high. PulteGroup is down 20% from the February high. All those names are down in May. They have also posted losses over the past month, and they're down by double-digits over the past three months. LEN 3M mountain Lennar over the past three months Walmart reports before the bell The stock hit a high on Tuesday. Walmart shares have gained 6% in the past three months. Deere reports before the bell Shares are down 17% from the February high. Deere has lost 15% in the past three months. DE 3M mountain Deere in the past three months CEO of Stellantis Antonio Filosa, who helms the automaker, will be on CNBC in the 10:30 a.m. half-hour of "Squawk on the Street." Stellantis is off 38% from the December high. Share are down about 31% year to date. Spotify's Co-CEO Gustav Soderstrom will be on "Halftime Report" Thursday. The stock is off 45% from the June 2025 high. Shares have fallen 20% in the past month. Cummins Investor Day CNBC TV's Seema Mody will be on standby for news. The industrial has doubled in the past year. It hit a high on May 7, but it's down 7% from that level.
