Recently, I was asked which currency to invest in if you're just starting in crypto, and honestly, there's a lot of noise in the market. Everyone promises impossible returns, but the reality is that only a handful of projects have solid fundamentals to truly grow.
The thing is, Bitcoin remains the digital gold. It has dominated since its inception, is everywhere, and although it sounds boring, it’s the safest option if you want to preserve value long-term. Right now, it’s around $77.42K after fluctuating quite a bit this year. Ethereum is the other essential pillar, the infrastructure of all decentralized finance. It’s trading at $2.13K, and although it has dropped, its ecosystem remains irreplaceable.
Now, if you want more action and accept more volatility, Solana is interesting. Its transaction speed is incredible, and although it fell hard (now at $84.96), it’s still the favorite for high-performance applications. BNB also deserves attention for its deflationary mechanism and passive income generation, although the price of $644.30 reflects market uncertainty.
For those wondering which currency to invest in for something different, Ripple (XRP) has consolidated after resolving its regulatory issues. At $1.37, it’s much more accessible than before, though still volatile. Chainlink is another that I can’t ignore; that bridge between the real world and blockchain has intrinsic value that many underestimate.
Then there are the more aggressive options: Avalanche, Sui, Cardano. They are at the forefront of technology but also carry considerable risk. AVAX is at $9.22, SUI at $1.06, ADA at $0.25. If the ecosystem expands as expected, the return could be huge. But they could also disappear from the radar.
Trend is interesting because it leads in stablecoin transfers. Many don’t see it, but it has constant liquidity. At $0.36, it’s accessible, and this year it’s up 33.90%.
The question of which currency to invest in really depends on your profile. If you’re conservative, Bitcoin and Ethereum are your foundation. No debate. If you tolerate volatility, Solana and BNB are the sweet spot between safety and growth. And if you’re looking to catch the next tech boom, Chainlink, Avalanche, or Sui could multiply your capital, but they could also drop 70% tomorrow.
My recommendation is to diversify according to your risk tolerance. Don’t put everything into a single currency. Bitcoin as an anchor, a couple of projects with real utility (Ethereum, Solana), and if you can handle volatility, take small positions in next-generation infrastructure.
What I can tell you for sure: the best time to start was years ago, the second best is now. The market will continue evolving, and being inside is better than watching from the outside. As for which currency to invest in specifically, that’s up to you, but at least now you have a clear map of the most serious options in the market.
