South Korean President: Unions have the right to protect their own interests, but certain boundaries must not be crossed

ME News Report, May 20 (UTC+8), South Korean President Lee Myung-bak stated that he does not understand the rationale behind profit-sharing before taxes. Unions have the right to protect their own interests, but certain boundaries should not be crossed. Lee Myung-bak said that personal interests should naturally be respected, but collective responsibility and unity are equally important. The existence of labor rights is to protect workers' interests, not to pursue limited self-interests through collective power. (Source: ODAILY)
