Why do many people who later become very successful have a period of "staying at home"? Because a person's true transformation often doesn't happen during their most glorious moments, but after they leave their original path. Not going to school, losing a job, taking a break—these may seem like "wasted" time, but for many, it's during those days when no one understands or sees them that they truly begin to understand themselves. When the outside world no longer gives you an identity or pushes you forward, you will first seriously think: if I don't have those labels, who am I really? So some people slowly dissipate themselves in the trough, while others regain strength in silence. Many of the truly remarkable people later on didn't never fall down, but during that period of "staying at home," they completed the most important self-renewal.
