Gate Contract Points: How to Build a Verifiable Airdrop Rights System Through Trading Behavior

Airdrop culture is undergoing a profound transformation. From the early “address snapshots” to later “protocol interactions,” the distribution logic has always been searching for a more precise value anchor. The launch of the Gate contract points system marks a new stage in this exploration—it converts users’ genuine participation within the contract ecosystem into a transparent, continuous, and verifiable record of rights. This is no longer just simple task check-ins but a comprehensive assessment of trading behavior.

Structural Design of Points: Capturing User Contributions in Multiple Dimensions

Contract points are not a single metric; their calculation model consists of three independent channels, each calculated daily and then combined into the total points.

Balance weight is the fundamental dimension. The system reads the USDT and BTC balances in the contract account, as well as the USDx balance in TradFi accounts, at daily snapshot times, converts them into USD value, and assigns corresponding points. The balance ranges start from $100, with a maximum coverage exceeding $100,000, forming a four-tier stepped points structure. This means that asset accumulation itself is regarded as part of the ecosystem contribution. The specific rules are: balances from $100 to $1,000 earn 1 point daily; from $1,000 to $10,000 earn 2 points daily; from $10,000 to $100,000 earn 3 points daily; and above $100,000 earn 4 points daily.

Trading volume points follow an exponential growth logic. When the contract trading volume reaches $400, the user earns 1 point. After that, each doubling of trading volume increases points by 1—$800 corresponds to 2 points, $1,600 to 3 points, $3,200 to 4 points, and so on, with no daily cap. This design balances participation across different trading scales and objectively reflects the greater liquidity contribution of high-frequency traders. Starting February 9, 2026, TradFi trading volume is converted at 20% ratio into effective trading volume, and trading activities in products like gold and forex can also be converted into points.

Invitation points have verification thresholds. For each successfully inviting a new user who has earned at least 2 points, the inviter can earn 1 point, with a daily cap of 3 points. This mechanism effectively filters out invalid invitations, ensuring the quality of social dissemination.

The Rolling 15-Day Window: How Points Maintain Dynamic Fairness

Contract points are calculated using a rolling 15-day window. Total points are not accumulated permanently but are the net of points earned over the past 15 days minus the consumed points. Each point has a validity of 15 days from the date of issuance; expired points are automatically invalidated and cannot be recovered. The system follows a “first-in, first-out” consumption principle, prioritizing deducting the earliest earned points.

For the platform, the rolling window ensures that points always reflect users’ recent activity, preventing long-term advantage for historical contributors and making it easier for new active users to earn matching rights. For users, continuous participation is more valuable than one-time spikes, shifting behavior from short-term gaming to long-term co-creation.

The scenarios for point consumption are also clear. Users can use points to redeem position experience vouchers and other rights. For example, in the 115th airdrop event, the minimum points requirement for position experience vouchers is 40 points, and 20 points are needed to exchange for a $100 USDT position experience voucher. The act of consumption itself forms a closed loop in the points ecosystem—acquire, accumulate, exchange, and then acquire again.

Redefining Airdrop Expectations: From Passive Waiting to Active Building

Traditional airdrops’ uncertainty often confuses users. The Gate contract points system transforms vague expectations into traceable processes.

Points data is updated daily before 12:00 (UTC+8), detailing the previous day’s specifics, allowing users to clearly see the sources and changes in balance points, trading points, and invitation points, as well as reminders for expiring points. This transparency reduces information asymmetry. When airdrop eligibility is linked to points, users have a clearer basis to judge their position.

Deeper changes involve behavioral guidance. Users no longer need to guess which actions might influence airdrop results; the points rules themselves serve as a set of public behavioral guidelines. Maintaining account balances, keeping trading frequency, inviting valid users—each contribution is quantified and recorded. The airdrop, once uncertain, becomes a natural result of continuous accumulation.

Conclusion: Building a Sustainable Points Ecosystem

The long-term value of points depends on the sustainability of the ecosystem. A single airdrop expectation is insufficient to sustain a system’s vitality; points need to connect to more diverse rights scenarios.

Currently, the exchangeable position experience vouchers are the first step. In the future, the application space for points can be much broader—fee discounts, unlocking exclusive features, priority access to new products, governance rights within the ecosystem. When points span the entire user lifecycle across various scenarios, they will evolve from “airdrop certificates” into “ecosystem tokens.”

For users, understanding the rules and continuous participation are prerequisites for obtaining full ecosystem rights. For the Gate ecosystem, the points system offers a more refined user segmentation and incentive tool. This bidirectional value exchange is the foundation for the sustainable operation of the points ecosystem.

Contract trading is no longer just a price game. The Gate contract points represent an attempt to convert trading behavior into quantifiable contributions and contributions into predictable rights. Under this framework, every participant’s activity is objectively recorded, and every trade adds a new layer to their ecosystem identity.
