Irish police recovered access to a lost Bitcoin wallet holding 500 BTC tied to drug dealer Clifton Collins

Back in 2017, Collins was arrested after police found cannabis in his car, Investigators later discovered he had used drug money to buy around 6,000 Bitcoin
To reduce the risk of all his money being seized, he split the BTC across 12 wallets holding 500 BTC each
He wrote the recovery phrases on paper and hid them inside the aluminum cap of a fishing rod case stored at a rental property
After his arrest, the property was cleaned out and the recovery phrase was believed to be lost forever
Now years later, Ireland’s Criminal Assets Bureau suddenly says they recovered one wallet holding exactly 500 BTC
Nobody knows how they accessed it, which is making the whole story even crazier
