#MubadalaBitcoinETFHoldingsHit660M
Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Mubadala Investment Company has reportedly increased its holdings in BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) by approximately $660 million, reinforcing the growing trend of institutional and government investment in Bitcoin through regulated ETF products.
Recent announcements indicate Mubadala now holds approximately 14.7 million IBIT shares, continuing a multi-quarter accumulation strategy that began in late 2024. Several reports note the position has increased by approximately 16% quarter-on-quarter.
This move is significant because sovereign wealth funds typically invest with long-term horizons and conservative risk frameworks. Analysts see Mubadala's continued investment in the Bitcoin ETF as another sign that state-backed institutions are increasingly treating Bitcoin as a strategic macro asset rather than a speculative transaction.
At the same time, some traditional institutions are reportedly reducing their investments, creating a divergence between long-term government buyers and more tactical investors.
