ME News, May 14 (UTC+8): According to foreign media citing sources familiar with the matter, Vitol Energy Group is supplying clients with Iraqi Basra crude oil, indicating that some cargoes may already have successfully left the Persian Gulf. Sources said that in the past few days, Vitol has been providing feedstock to refiners, including Basra medium crude and Basra heavy crude, and delivering it through ship-to-ship transfers in waters near Fujairah (the UAE port). If the transaction is ultimately completed, this will be an extremely rare case in which Iraqi crude oil has been openly offered on the spot market by traders since the Strait of Hormuz blockade.
