What happened to you in the past doesn't matter. What matters is whether you still want to continue living according to that logic. Many people are stuck in old scripts their whole lives: being humiliated once, they forever think of themselves as inferior; being abandoned once, they are always afraid of losing; failing a few times, they default to thinking they are useless. But those are just explanations imposed on you by the past, they are not the truth. Your biggest problem now is not being hurt. It's that you've already started to get used to seeing yourself as the injured person. Once you no longer identify with that role, many things will instantly become invalid. The past cannot control the present, others cannot define you, and there's no need for you to continue playing that pitiful role.
