Odaily Planet Daily reports that on-chain analyst Specter states that the incidents involving investors Keith Gill, Matt Furie, and the WinRAR account on the X platform being hijacked are all related to the same hacker group. This group has profited over $14 million through account hijacking to promote tokens, cross-chain money laundering, and other methods, with fund flows involving five chains: Solana, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Tron, and Hyperliquid.

Specter says that the group may also be connected to a $2.45 million wstETH phishing attack in 2024. Investigations found that the hackers used stolen accounts to issue Pepe clone tokens and embedded a 2% automatic transaction fee mechanism for profit; related fund flows are associated with the bnbshare.fun platform and multiple addresses on Solana, Tron, and Ethereum. The analysis also shows that several tokens (including USOR, VDOR, DROID, WCOR, UGOR) were used to inflate market value before being sold off to zero.
